As some of you already know,

I´ve arrived to Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia yesterday.

The altitude induced headache-from-hell is gone thanks to the relatively low elevation of Sucre-2,750 m (9,022 ft)-and there are tons of things to do, such as trekking through an Inca Trail, rock paintings AND apparently, there´s a dinosaur track nearby which is apparently, the biggest in the world. (Dinosaurs and mummies are two of my favorite dead things haha)

so what am I doing inside, instead??

although Sucre has tons of internet cafes all over the center,

apparently, none has the equipment to burn the DVDs!

my memory cards(4GBs each) had long been full so I needed to find a place to burn the pictures to a DVD before I could do anything and after hours of searching, I succumbed to a photo center where they charged me about 7 hours´ worth of computer time to burn a stupid DVD.

then it took me another hour to find a place with dvd readers on their computers.

it´s taking me forever to upload pics and although some of them need to be edited,

I can´t be bothered because my patience is running low.

these pics are the latest ones I´ve taken from Potosi, during the anniversary march of the schools.

developing country folks have superior sense of gravity AND directions. yep. looking out at the road while you are driving is for pussies.

let´s not forget the hard-working band in the back….

Potosi, the highest city in the world, is famous for its cooperative mines.

Bolivia has been quite intriguing so far.
Things are lovingly cheap (but, why do I keep on getting ripped off by old ladies?)
Food is great(properly spicy! take that you Argentine, Chilean wimps!)
although,
I should stop eating from small street stalls because I don´t think it´s right to be praying before & during each meal not out of gratitude, but for the prevention of food poisoning.

Lodgings are…..not as lovely,
Why did anyone ever think of electric showers?
do people have death wish?
I´ve been (briefly) electrocuted and it´s obviously not pleasant.
WORST INVENTION EVER.

right now, there are dynamites exploding out the window…I love it hahaha! I think I´ve been in Bolivia for less than a week now and it seems that I´ve seen a march about 4 days, and every time, someone sets off a series of tiny dynamites(still loud enough though)

I like most things here except for its notorious lack of hygiene… You see,
I was raised to believe that littering is a no-no,
so that when I was trekking in Torres del Paine,
I was picking up many of the trash left by the previous passerbys.
When I was travelling in India(which seems like a lifetime ago,) I was shocked to see people throwing trash out the window,
even while they were on the train(I´m talking the whole tray of food tins)
and figured that Chile was still a developing country when I saw people throwing trash out of the bus window…but…
what do you say when people THROW(because you know, if you don´t, the trash will not obey the rule of gravity) trash down to the floor of the bus? Not even to the side, but RIGHT OVER THEIR FEET!
I saw this woman spitting out mandarin seeds to the floor, right between her spread legs….ECK!!!!!!!!

I guess I´ll get used to this culture shock by the time I leave here but….
ECK!!!!
